Are they all the same? do they do the same work?

Let’s keep it crisp and easy… but before we jump in,

please remember that all these roles are “Technical”, and these individuals are expected to know the technical-level architectures well enough to converse with and drive clarity between various stakeholders who are at different leadership levels.

In this article, let’s discuss these 5 roles:

  1. Product Manager Technical ,
  2. Technical Product Manager,
  3. Technical Project Manager,
  4. Technical Program Manager,
  5. and a Bonus role ….

Product Manager, Technical

Product managers are those who talk to customers, gather requirements, prioritize the pain points of the customers, and hand over the high level requirements to the Technical product managers. Product manager (Technical) means those PMs who work on technical products such as Plotly - that I have personally worked on.
